Why is the scarcity of water increasing day by day in India? Explain any three reasons.

Water use in many purposes like washing , cooking , industries , irrigation , drinking and this all includes a lots of wastage of water etc due to which scarcity occurred.

There are many reasons due to which scarcity of water increasing day by day in India :

(i)The rapidly expanding population has raised the demand for water for drinking and residential usage, which is one of the causes of water

scarcity.

(ii) The amount of water that is accessible has decreased due to the growing demand for food and cash crops, both of which need more water.

(iii) Water resources are being overused in order to increase the area that is irrigated and to cultivate another crop during the dry season.

(iv) There has been a growth in industrialization, and industrial activities need a lot of water.

(v) Water is one of the basic need of everyone even for plants also .We should conserve the water and do not waste it .
