Why is the series arrangement not used for domestic purpose?

In a series arrangement, if one appliance fails, the whole circuit goes down, as the path of the current will be broken.

Also, all appliances have just one single switch, thus not allowing us to operate them independently.

The same current goes to all appliances, and hence they need to share a part of the total voltage.. This will not allow heavy appliances to work properly.

The total resistance is the sum of each individual resistance.. Hence the magnitude of resistance is maximum (as compared to any other way of connection).. This leads to more heat generation and more of electrical energy wastage and does not allow heavy appliances to function properly..

series arrangement is not used in domestic circuits because

◾◾ There is voltage division in series circuits. Each component of a series circuit receives a small voltage for a large supply voltage. As a result, the amount of current decreases and the device becomes hot.

I hope, this will help you
