Silk route: The trading of silk was high from the 2nd century to the 14th century and the route that is used to trade is referred to as the silk route.  

In the ancient times, the route connecting China and Mediterranean is referred to the silk route or silk-road by Ferdinand von Richthofen.

A new connection was established between Eurasia and the Middle east which is referred to as the silk route currently.  It stretched from China passing India and Asia Minor, reaching Mesopotamia, Egypt, Africa, Greece and Britain
