Small intestine of herbivores are larger than carnivores as they have to digest cellulose which is stored in them in the form of starch . Cellulose take time to digest that's why their intestine is larger as the bacteria to digest them is present in small intestine.

Hope it helps.........

Answer: The length of small intestine differs in various animals depending on the food they eat. Herbivores eating grass need a longer small intestine to allow the cellulose to be digested, which needs more time. Meat is easier to digest, hence carnivores animals have a shorter small intestine.
