The study of origin and growth of sociology is important because the uses and concerns which led to the formation of the discipline sociology were important and need to be focused. During 18th and 19th centuries the European societies has undergone various changes with the introduction of industrialisation and capitalism. With industrialisation, there rises the problem of migration, scarcity of land, urban influences, etc. Capitalism in the west entaine the world wide expansion through colonialism. Thus, the societies during that period has undergone various change creating interest of scholars to form a new discipline which will comprise of the new events and changes within the society. Thus, the origin and growth of sociology is important.
