Test tube baby is a misnomer because the baby not develops inside a test tube. The fusion of ovum and sperm is done outside the body of woman to form a zygote which is allowed to divide to form embryo. This embryo is them implanted in uterus where it develops into a fetus which in turn develops into a child. This is called test tube baby.
