Ans:- Tertiary sector has becoming more important in India because -

1} basic services like hospitals, education, post and telegraph,courts, etc. are the responsibility of the government in developing countries.

(ii) Demand for services such as transport, trade, storage will increase with the development of primary and secondary sectors.

(iii) Demand for tourism, shopping, private schools, private hospitals, etc. increases with the increase in the level of income.

(iv) Rapid growth of services sector also benefitted from external demand such as software industry and call centre services.

All the above services is fall under tertiary sector

(i) In any country several basic services  like transport, bank, insurance, educational  institutions, etc., are required and the  government has to take responsibility for the  provision of these services.




(ii) The development of agriculture and industry  lead to the development of services, such as  transport trade, storage, etc.




(iii) As income level rises, certain sections of people  started demanding many services like eating  out, tourism, private hospitals, etc.




(iv) Certain new services such as those based on  information and communication technology  have become important and essential.




(v) Greater the development of the primary and  secondary sectors, more would be the demand  for such services.
