why is the tip of a neddle made sharp

So that it is convenient to sew. If it is sharp it easily enters into the cloth. If its blunt then it be hard as a result we should apply more force.

amyricky: The tip of the needle is sharp so as to maximise pressure. Pressure is inversely proportional to area of contact. So in a needle, the area of contact is kept minimum to concentrate all the force at one point and easily pierce through objects.

So that  it can penetrate the fabric easily by applying more pressure on the fabric
