Tungsten is an alloy with high resistance and high melting point due to which it is used almost exclusively for filament of electric lamps. ... (iii) Copper and aluminium have less resistance and are good conductors of electricity. Hence cooper and aluminium wires are usually employed for electricity transmission.

Dear Student,

◆ The tungsten used almost exclusively for filament of all electric lamps because -

Tungsten is a metal with highest melting point.

It doesnt melt even at bulb temprature.

When tungsten filament is used in electric lamps, it heats up without melting and creates light.

Hence, it is preferably used as filament of electric bulbs.

Thanks dear for asking. Hope this is useful to you...
