why is the vacuole in plant cells a ' large central' one while that in the animal cells are small? i remember that it was something about the cell membrane bursting should the animal cell have a large central vacuole. can anyone explain that in full to me? thanks!

Hey ya!

I will try to explain my level best.

Plants need a lot of water when compared to animals. Vacoules are same in plant cell and animal cell.. I mean thier function is same i.e the storage of water. Both are there for water storage.

Often plant cell's vacoules are filled with water with volume greater than the vacoule. So, that the vacoule occupies the space of almost all the cell. As plants need more water, they take more water and that is stored in these large vacoules.
