When considering the frog’s life cycle, the first stage is said to be tadpole. This tadpole is the 1st ever stage of metamorphosis. This metamorphosis stage comprises of larva and an adult stage.

Explanation:

  • The pupil stage has not been included. As they remain in metamorphosis stage, they develop or grow lungs, limbs and other necessary parts which eventually absorb the tail.
  • These tadpoles are herbivorous and not carnivorous. They will eat only vegetation. And the adults are carnivorous.
