Sperm swim, eggs don't. (In animals. Pollen is another story.)
Sperm have just enough stored energy on board to get them to the egg. Eggs usually have a big load of raw materials on which the living cells can survive as they multiply. Animals that are oviparous keep it all in the shell, but viviparous animals have much smaller eggs and depend on the placenta to deliver more nutrients. Still, a human egg is far larger than a human sperm.
