The regions close to the sea or ocean experience moderate climate while the region far from the coast experience extreme climate.

This is because of sea breeze and land breeze.

During the day land heats up quickly, so does the air above it. Hot air is light so it moves up in the atmosphere. Leaving free space behind. This space is occupied by the air from the sea and is known as sea breeze. At night the vice versa happens as land cools down faster than water.
