(i)Classifying organisms will help explain the great diversity among organisms and how they are related to each other.
(ii)We need to be aware with the different classifications of organisms.
(iii)Classification makes the study of such a wide variety of organisms easy. It is also important to understand the interrelationship among different groups of organisms.
(iv)Classification serves as a basis for the development of other biological sciences as well.

  1. The name of the genus begins with a capital letter
  2. The name of the species begins with a small letter
  3. when printed ,the scientific name is given in italics
  4. when written by hand , the genus name and the species name have to be underline separately
