There is a pressing need to use renewable energy sources because -

1) These are clean sources of energy.

2) There is a doubt over the availability of enough fossil fuels over the next few years.

3) Conventional sources are becoming more and more expensive.

4) Non conventional sources have high setup cost but are cheap in terms of running cost.

5) Renewable energy sources are sustainable. Non renewable will get exhausted after a few years and we will not be able to meet our needs.
