Translocation. Translocation is the movement of materials from leaves to other tissues throughout the plant. Plantsproduce carbohydrates (sugars) in their leaves by photosynthesis, but nonphotosynthetic parts of the plant also require carbohydrates and other organic and nonorganic materials.
