Dear Student,
◆ Transpiration -
- Transpiration is the process of water movement through a plant and its evaporation from aerial parts, such as leaves, stems and flowers.
● Transpiration is considered to be a necessary evil because -
- Transpiration helps in movement of water + minerals from root to stem. Thus, it is necessary.
- Transpiration evaporates water stored by the plant in leaves/stem/flowers. Thus, it makes plant dry and is considered evil.
- Hence, transpiration is called a necessary evil.
