Dear Student,

◆ Transpiration -

  • Transpiration is the process of water movement through a plant and its evaporation from aerial parts, such as leaves, stems and flowers.

Transpiration is considered to be a necessary evil because -

  • Transpiration helps in movement of water + minerals from root to stem. Thus, it is necessary.
  • Transpiration evaporates water stored by the plant in leaves/stem/flowers. Thus, it makes plant dry and is considered evil.
  • Hence, transpiration is called a necessary evil.

Hope this helps you...
