Transport of materials is necessary for plants or animals because due to it the nutrients and oxygen are made available to all the parts of the body. If the transport of necessary nutrients and oxygen does not take place in the body, the body will not be able to survive.

Hello friend thanks for this question I will try to answer it :)
First of all transportation for the primitive life forms is through diffusion . The body sufrace acts as a intermediate to exchange gases and other vital or waste products from the body . But in case of the complex life forms like animals and plants they need the food particles ,etc to be transported over a longer distance. For instance if you have a tree which is 10-100mtr tall then they require a vascular system to supply minerals and water from the root to the top most parts :) . Similarly with humans they require the essential gasses and minerals ,hormones etc to be transported to each and every cell. In this case diffusion can't help as there are multiple cells and not all are exposed to the environment . :) So in humans you would rather find a curcylatory system which circulates blood to each part of the body . And the main transporting element is blood which has affinity to oxygen ,it also dissolves various minerals and salts which is needed by the cell for the metabolic processes .
I have attached few diagrams which can answer few of your doubts. It shows why transportation is necessary in humans and plants .
Thank you
Don't forget to mark me brainliest if my answer helps :)
Have a great day
