Van't Hoff factor is less than 1 for the molecules which will tend to associate to form dimer molecules. Van't Hoff factor is more than 1 for the strong electrolytes which will dissociate and forms more than one ion. Van't Hoff factor for weak electrolytes and non-electrolytes Van't Hoff factor is equal to 1.
