why is venus hotter than mercury even it is far from sun

Because the rays of the sun falls directly on the Venus as compared to the Mercury.

Venus has a cloud of sulphuric acid . it's atmosphere has mainly co2 and other greenhouse gases which increases it's temp. that's why it happens
