xylem is a dead tissue because its main organells(mithochondria eta) are missing. by that it becomes space efficient and doesnt use up the waker for its own metabolic functions
But they consists dead cells right??
these cells are dead because its few main organells are missing
if these cells actually die then they form another layer of the bark
the cells cannot actually be dead orelse they wont perform their fuctions their are few protective cells which are dead because they dont let the other virus or anything harm themselves and there fore not harming the actual living cells in the plant
