Zimbabwe is not considered as democratic because :-

- Zimbabwe attained it's independence from white minority rule in 1980 .

- Since then the country has been ruled by ZANU-PF , the party that led the freedom struggle .

- It's leader Robert Mugabe , has been ruling the country since independence .

- Election were held regularly and were always won by ZANU-PF . President Mugabe is popular but also uses unfair practices to win Elections .

- Over a few years his government had changed the constitution several times to increase the powers of the President and make him less accountable .

- Opposition parties were harassed . Public protest and Demonstrations were declared illegal.

- Television and radio are controlled by the government . There are independent newspapers but the government harasses those journalist who go against it .

Therefore , Zimbabwe can't be called as a democratic country .
