It can be because of frictional force in the fiber of jute and silk.And type of rough and smooth surface of jute and silk respectively.

I think ...that it is easy to tie a knot in a jute rope than silk rope as jute fiber has more rough surface and more friction compared to the silk which holds the knot properly.

If you see jute and silk thread with magnifying glass then u will known that jute has more irregularities than silk. It is easier to tie a silk knot than jute.This is because of friction only.
