Air is said to be Homogeneous mixture of different gases because it contains different gases like Nitrogen ,oxygen, carbon dioxide, argon, etc. This is said to be homogeneous mixture because the constituent cannot be distinguished unlike heterogeneous mixture.

Air is homogeneous because although it has various gases; hydrogen, nitrogen, oxygen and helium including what humans put in the atmosphere, heterogeneous mixtures have to have noticeable parts. You have to be able to see them. As one gets higher in altitude, the oxygen content is reduced.
