Why it is said that motion is a relative term

it is said so because motion is seen with relation to something else at stationary or in motion

for example suppose u are travelling in a bus looking out of window u can see bus moving as u see the trees go backwards as the bus moves forward

but now imagine there is nothing around you and there is nothing around to see imagine if u are able to see only the bus and no surroundings of the bus

so now tell me whether u will be tell whether the bus is in motion or not

answer is you cannot say that bus is in motion

so thats why motion is a relative term
