It is so because even a non magnetised price of metal which has attractive property can attract a magnet...but only a magnet can repel another.

When 2 objects are magnetized, then same poles will repel. as attraction also occurs between magnet and magnetic substance.
But, if any 1 is magnet and other is magnetic substance, then there will be attraction but not repulsion .
so, repulsion is true test

ShauryaKumarBhaskar: I didn't got the point
YatharthClarke: See...Iron attracts a magnet... doesn't it?
YatharthClarke: But does Iron ever Repel a magnet?
Rahul11112222333: exactly. YartharthClarke thank you for explaining
YatharthClarke: No... Only a magnet can repel a magnet. So if a magnet is repelled, it proves that both substances are magnets.
YatharthClarke: Thanks
