why it is said that vernacular names create confusion

It does create confusion among the people in different regions.

For example in India mango is known as Aam, someone from different country will not have a single clue what an indian is talking about.

Every place has different language and words of every language can be differ which causes problem and confusion in recognizing anything as like if I say apple, in hindi we use seb whereas in marathi it is saparchand both are very different and can confuse anybody.

It can create confusion among the people in different regions.
