it is said that goddess laxmi visits our homes this day the word kojagiri means awake there is also a story behind this .it goes like this:
once there was a king who had financial crisis so his queen observed fast and worshipped goddess laxmi staying awake all night so goddess laxmi bestowed many blessings on them and they regained their wealth and prosperity
