Why lajpath nagar is named after the great freedom fighter SH Lala Lajpath Rai

During the time of british government in india, the colony in this nagar was housed for bengali widows which was foundef by lala lajpat rai.... after many years of functioning this nagar came to be known as Lajpath nagar....
