Answer:

when a.c input is applied across primary coil,an e.m.f is induced in secondary coil of transformer.at the same time flux also changes through soft iron core.

2). as resistance of iron core is small, large eddy currents are produced.

3). as a result, large amount of heat is produced and it may damage the insulation of coil.

4). to avoid eddy current, iron core is laminated.I hope it's helpful for you.

Answer:

The core of a transformer is laminated to reduce the eddy currents .

The core of a transformer is laminated to reduce the eddy currents .Eddy currents are circulating currents that are produced inside a solid material when it is placed in a magnetic field .

The core of a transformer is laminated to reduce the eddy currents .Eddy currents are circulating currents that are produced inside a solid material when it is placed in a magnetic field .Eddy currents causes unnecessary heating and energy losses .
