Mahatma Gandhi decided to cal off civil disobedience movement because :-
1) Worried by the development of civil disobedience movement the colonial government began arresting the congress leader one by one .
2) This led to violent claster in many places .
3) When mahatma Gandhi arrested industrial workers in sholapur attacked police force municipal building, law courts , railway stations nd all other structures that symbolised British rule .
4) A frightened government responded with policy of brutal repression.
5) The peaceful satyagrahi were attacked , women nd children were between nd about 1 lakh people were arrested.
Under these circumstances Mahatma Gandhi called off civil disobedience movement.

⏩ In February 1922 Mahatma Gandhi decided to withdraw the Non-Cooperation Movement.
⏩ At, Chauri Chaura in Gorakhpur,a peaceful demonstration in a bazaar turned into a violent clash with the police. Hearing of the incident, Mahatma Gandhi call of the Non-Cooperation Movement.
