- In our culture a girl is not valued as much as a boy and many women in our society do not want a girl child.
- Because of poverty the dropouts are many particularly in scheduled castes and scheduled tribes.
- The girls are put to domestic work, care of siblings, work in the houses of others, child marriages etc.

In Indian society it is the major drawback that a majority of girls leave school without completing primary education and the reason behind this are ___
1__ It is the thinking of the society that girls are only for the domestic works they can't do anything if they studies also because they have to do the marriage only and manage home only...
2____ And if in the family there was a son then the priority is given to the boy education instead of girls so many girls hide behind their brothers needs...
3___ Some families having lack of financial support don't want to waste their money on girls education...
