I worked at the test match and one dayers at the WACA last year and supplied all the players food.
In the morning they get a sandwich bar with cold meats, salads, jam, peanut butter etc.. (really nice stuff though) which stays for the whole day.
For lunch they usually get 5 different hot dishes. 3 meats (chicken, beef, lamb, fish, changes from day to day) plus maybe a noodle/rice dish and some potatoe wedges or something. They obviously also get salads and bread and they would eat a lot of ice cream.
At tea there would be maybe 3 hot dishes (the batsmen who are out and all the support staff still have to eat) plus sandwiches, ice cream and fruit. Similar stuff is put out after play (this is when a lot of them eat a lot).
I also used to deliver stuff to the change rooms for their shakes (bananas, strawberries, honey) and whatever else they wanted (beer, coffee). They didn't seem to mind if I just walked in whatever they were doing and mostly they were all really nice.

1) Players required energy in greater amount.

2) They perspire heavily at the time of game Or sport which results in the loss of water and electrolytes from their body.

3) This may affect their performance in sport. To prevent such unfavorable effect, they are given, juice or drink.

4) This helps them to restore the balance of water and electrolytes in their body. It also gives enhanced energy required for the performance.
