meta dichlorobenzene is packed more efficiently than ortho dichlorobenzene. Therefore melting point of meta dichlorobenzene is more than ortho dichlorobenzene

Answer: Melting point of meta dichlorobenzene is more than ortho dichlorobenzene when the resonance takes place meta position get Positive charge where as ortho and pera get negaitive. Thus, When chlorine (nuleophile) attacks to benzne it gets attach to meta position of benzene.
