why melting point of sodium chloride is high ????

sodium chloride has a high melting and boiling point this are strong electrostatic attraction between the positive and negative ions,and it take a lot of heat energy to overcome them . lonic stands all have high melting and boiling point .

melting point of sodium chloride is high because in sodium chloride bond is ionic in nature which strong so it need more energy to malt
