These proteins are- 1. they are not fully embedded but are slightly entering the lipid layer .
so when the membrane is represented in models , it appears like a sea of the lipid bilayer [2 layers ] made of phospholipids and in it the embedded proteins [integral proteins ] here these are referred to as iceburg coz they are not fully embedded but floating !! ~ @lice
