· Microscopic organisms convert mercury into methylmercury, which is the most common organic mercury compound found in the environment. Elemental or metallic mercury is a shiny, silver-white metal and is liquid at room temperature. It is used in older thermometers, fluorescent light bulbs and some electrical switches.

Here is ur answer..,.....✌️✌️✌️

Extraction of mercury metal: Cinnabar (HgS) is first heated in air. This turns HgS [mercury sulphide or cinnabar] into HgO (mercury oxide); by liberation of sulphur dioxide. Mercury oxide so obtained is again heated strongly. This reduces mercury oxide to mercury metal.

Hope it helps.......✌️✌️✌️
