Your answer is ----

metal conduct electricity because metal loss electron esaily due to this it coduct electricity .

But non metal can't loss electron . So, they can't conduct electricity .

There is one exception that is :-

• Graphite is non metal but it conduct electricity because it's some electron free to move due to it's structure .

Hope it helps you

richa6666: Metal conduct electricity because of movement of free electrons . Non metal doesn't have free electrons so they dont conduct electricity.Graphite conducts electricity due to presence of a free electron which can be understood by its structure i.e. hexagonal planar. It is an exception of non metals.

We know that metals have a tendency to lose electrons. These electrons are mobile and are evenly spread out throughout the crystal. Each metal atom contributes one or more electrons .

Note:-free and mobile electrons are responsible for high thermal and electrical conductivity of metals.

metals contain lot of free electrons while nonmetals don't have it.

metals conduct electricity due to the presence of free electrons which are absent in non-metals.

Thank you!!!!
