why metals do not produce h2 gas when they react with acid like nitric acid ( HNO3)

HNO3 is a strong oxidising agent.it oxidises h2 to give http://water.it only give hydrogen with manganese and magnesium. Why doesn't nitric acid produce hydrogen gas when it reacts with metals? ... acid id used. If very cold and very dilute nitric acid is reacted with magnesium or manganese then hydrogen gas is released

The metals do not produce h2 gas that is hydrogen gas when it react with nitric acid because the nitric acid contains less number of hydrogen ions and cant produce much h2 hydrgen when it reacts with metal that is the reason the nitric acid do not produce h2 when it reacts with metal
