Why Mno2 is used during preparation of O2 from KCLO3??​

O2 is prepared in the laboratory by heating KClO3 which requires to be heated up to a temperature of 630degree Celsius. It is dangerous too. But MnO2 acts as a positive catalyst which enables the reaction to take place at 200-240 degree at a much faster rate.
