Because each member in the Parliament is chosen by the people.....They are there because of the people.....and their priority is to work for the people

Modern democracies are called representative democracies because of the following reasons:-
*A people's representative is the jead of the democracy for a fixed period of time.
*With today's enormous population, it's not possible for all the adult citizens of an area to gather and make decisions for themselves.
*Even if they are gathered at a place, they all might not have the required knowledge or intellect to make important decisions.
Therefore, in today's context, representative democracies are the best form of democracy.
