why most indian parents prefer son over a girl child

due to backwardness of their mind.
and thoughts that girl are burden and she can not earn for family but now a days girl are being self dependt and earning money so she is not burden and she is boon instead of curse.

because they think girls are burden for them..but now a days people don't thinking like that... according to Hindu culture girls are Lakshmi to the home......
