because the two boys work really too much hard even at the age of 15 and 13 and when their family got died in war they take their responsibility of their sister and have a great treatment for her so they are gentleman's

The narrator addresses the two boys as the Gentleman as because they are hard working,kind and caring.
They doesn't want the society to give sympathy to them..They all want is to do by their own.
After the war..As due to the war they had lost their father.Even a boom had destroyed their house..Their sister was suffering from tuberculosis of spines..
The boys are really caring that's y they had admitted their sister in hospital and do all the odd jobs to pay for her treatment.
That's why they are true gentleman..
