Why nitric acid on metals do not librate hydrogen gas with dilute?

Nitric acid(HNO3) is a strong oxidising agent. The Hydrogen gas produced during its reaction with metal gets oxidised to H2O, hence no hydrogen gas is produced. Instead it evolvesnitric oxides such as NO2,NO etc. ... The hydrogen gas produced during its reaction with metal gets oxidised to H2O .

Nitric acid is strong reducing agent. The hydrogen gas produced during its reaction with metal get oxidized H2O hence no hydrogen gas . instead it evolves nitric acid such as NO, N2O........ The hydrogen gas produced during its reaction with metal get oxidized to H2O
