Why nitride of beryllium is volatile while other members are solid?

Answer: Be is alkaline earth metal. Due to very small in size Be react with nitrogen to form covalent bond between them. Except Be other elements of same group form ionic bond with N2 so due to formation of covalent bond with nitrogen Be3N2 is volatile in nature.
And in case of gr 2 elements the solubility is also dec down the group due to hydration enthalpy so other elements are solid .
(Note* Be is amphoteric in nature)
