In woman's lifetime ,she will only ovulate 300 to 400 of the 1-2 million eggs,she was initially born with that .men will produce over 500 million sperms in their life time this is because the fertilization must take within 24 hours. the sperm enter into the ovum and fuses with it,resulting in the formation of zygote. fertilization is very rare to happen so the no of sperms always produced much more than the no of egg .
