NO2 is called mixed anhydride because because it reacts with water to from the following mixture

2NO2 + H20--- HNO2 + HNO3

Those gases or compounds which form two acidic anhydride when react with water they are known as mixed or double acid anhydride .

NO2 is called as mixed or double acid anhydride because when it react with water it form two acidic anhydride i.e


                                               HNO2 and HNO3
