Nokia not only failed in India but also failed around the world. When smartphone revolution started and Google developed Android operating system, Nokia opted for its age old Symbion OS instead of Android. That decision marked Nokia's downfall.

While doing a case study of why Nokia here are the points that I found why Nokia failed:
- While Android and Apple came to the market they showed a major development their phones were more advanced than nokia phones. Nokia did not improve their phones with the trend.
- They stuck with the same non touch screen phones during those times.
- The company was in great loss because of the less sales of the phone. Even when people asked why they were not making improved phones they were saying that the nokia phone does not break on falling down.
- Finally when the CEO of Nokia changed he decided to partner with some other big company. Everyone thought that Nokia would partner with Android but it was false they partnered with Microsoft which was another reason for their downfall.
- None of the Microsoft applications supported the Nokia phones. Nokia still failed after partnering then eventually a time came when Microsoft completely bought the Nokia brand and started selling phones in the lumia model which went good for a while but still the market was competitive with the apple and android phones which were much faster and much more advanced.
- The main reason they failed is because trends were changing rapidly and the demands of people also was changing but they did not change according to the trend.
- Now all the major brands overtook Nokia and made their name where once Nokia was the best among all the phones.
