For every group attached on benzene ring :

1) If that group has a double bond in it like H-C=O :- It will be meta directing

2)If that group has a single bond in it like O-H :- It will be o,p directing.

To memorize this my Chemistry sir used to say M for multiple bond and M for meta directing.
