The right lung has three lobes and the left lung has two lobes because it shares the position of the heart.

The lungs perform the respiration process in our body. The respiratory system allows the oxygen into our body and get rid of carbon dioxide in the air. Respiration process means the exchange of oxygen from the environment for carbon dioxide from the body's cells.
